Grilled
King Trumpet Mushrooms
Ingredients:
Two
to Three good sized King Trumpets
One
to One and a half Tablespoons canola oil
One
half cup soy sauce
Ground
Ginger
Chopped
Garlic
Preparation:
Cut
the very bottom off the mushroom and slice the Trumpets length wise, into
quarter inch slices.
Mix
ground ginger, chopped garlic and soy sauce. Allow Mushrooms to marinade at
least 30 minutes (I prefer longer).
Remove
and place on heated, oiled grill surface.
Cook
for two to three minutes each side.
Variations
of this dish can be made by adding chilis to the marinade. The bird chili is
the hottest, but choose the one that’s right for your level of desired heat.
You can also add rice vinegar to the marinade and top the Trumpets with fresh
cut basil when serving.
